Today is the Second Sunday of the Month. Children’s Confessions will be heard at 10:30 AM. Vespers and Benediction are at 4:45 PM. Following the 5:45 PM Mass at approximately 7:00 PM, members of the Rosary Confraternity and all parishioners are asked to meet in the parking lot of the First Watch Restaurant at the corner of Union Centre Boulevard and Floer Drive. How greatly we should pray for peace to avert the World War III, already scheduled by the conspiracy! Your prayers count! Come and pray.
Tuesday is the beautiful summer feast of Our Blessed Mother, the Assumption. It is a Holyday of Obligation. It is traditional to bless first fruits (herbs and produce) and flowers for this lovely feast, as she is the First Fruit of God’s harvest of souls. Masses are at 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, and 5:45 PM. Please plan to bring a basket to be blessed at the 9:00 AM High Mass. We would be grateful for garden flowers to use in decorating Our Lady’s tomb and for the children’s procession.
Bring your children, too, for the privilege of representing the angels in our little procession before the 9:00 AM Mass. After Mass there is a complementary breakfast for all the children who take part in the procession. Our “Children’s Day” continues with special activities, and the day concludes at approximately 12:30-12:45 PM. We invite and encourage you to stary for Vespers and Benediction, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Don’t let your Sunday envelopes take a vacation! If you go away, please don’t forget your obligation to contribute to the support of your Church! You may mail us your envelopes or include them with your next Sunday collection. Thank you so much!
Summer has been on us with a vengeance since mid-July. But, please remember, in spite of the weather there can be no compromise of Catholic modesty. Dresses that are sleeveless, tight, sheer, or do not reach below the knee are unbecoming at Divine Worship. As you know, the church is kept quite cool so that you can dress properly.
Modesty and decorum are for men and boys as well. Do not wear jeans to church. Wear a suit, trousers, jacket and tie! Men, give the example of respect!
Next Sunday is the Third Sunday of the Month. The Blessing of Expectant Mothers is available after all Masses.
