Today is the first Sunday of the month. The Blessing of Religious Articles follows all Masses. Our monthly Second Collection is for our Seminary and Mission Support.

Today is the last opportunity for early enrollment in our Sunday Catechism program. Please register your child in Helfta Hall. Someone will be available after all Masses to assist you.

Vespers and Benediction are cancelled today.

Alter Christus

The “little church” is in the vestibule this morning. The ushers are collecting alms for the Alter Christus Confraternity to support priests who might not otherwise receive help. Please be generous.

Labor Day

Labor Day marks the end of summer and back to work for all of us in some sense, as we start the Fall season. Come to Mass tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM to honor St. Joseph, Patron Saint of Workers.

Thirteen Tuesdays of St. Anthony

Our Thirteen Tuesdays devotion in honor of St. Anthony of Padua is almost over. Join us at 5:35 PM, immediately before the 5:45 PM Mass. Come to participate in this powerful devotion.

St. Gertrude the Great School

Our school begins its 15th year of operation on Wednesday, September 6th. There is still time to enroll your children if you have not done so already. Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God

This Friday, September 8th, is the Feast of Our Lady’s Nativity. The Blessing of Seeds and Seedlings will take place after the 11:30 AM Mass. Each child will receive a seedling to plant in Our Lady’s honor.

Following the High Mass there will be a Birthday Party for “Baby Mary”. There will be a cake and activities for the children. Please note, All Children, and especially our home schoolers, are welcome to the festivities for this special birthday which “announces joy to the whole world.”

Our Annual Parish Picnic is scheduled for Sunday, September 17th. Join us anytime between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM at Council Bluffs Shelter in Sharon Woods for an afternoon of games, good food, and great company. More in next Sunday’s bulletin.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Tony Perrine, a long-time Traditional Catholic, most zealous and very devoted to Our Lady, who died suddenly two weeks ago. He led the Rosary each week at St. Clare’s in Columbus.
