The High Mass is from September 12th with the commemoration and Last Gospel of the Sunday. The Low Masses are of the Sunday.

Sunday Catechism Classes begin today following the High Mass. If your children are not yet enrolled, it is not too late — enroll them today!

Vespers and Benediction are at 1:10 PM.

Thirteen Tuesdays of Saint Anthony

Our Thirteen Tuesdays devotion in honor of St. Anthony of Padua concludes this week. Join us at 5:35 PM, immediately before the 5:45 PM Mass.

Fatima Rosary Procession

Wednesday, September 13th marks the fifth of the apparitions by Our Lady at Fatima. The Rosary Confraternity is sponsoring an outdoor procession at approximately 7:00 PM, following the 5:45 PM Mass. Join us for the wonderful opportunity to console the Mother of Sorrows and make reparation by publicly praying Our Lady’s Rosary. We will meet in the same location as last month, in the parking lot at First Watch.

Special Feasts

This Thursday and Friday we keep the great September feasts of the Holy Cross and the Mother of Sorrows. The Blessing with the Relic of the True Cross follows the 11:30 AM High Mass. Friday we honor our Sorrowful Mother at the 11:30 AM High Mass and at the 5:45 PM Mass and Benediction.

Lessons in the Catholic Faith

This Saturday, September 16th, starting at 3:00 PM, Bishop Dolan or Father Cekada will be offering a systematic study of the Catholic Faith – for all – especially converts and interested non-Catholics, or Catholics who would simply like to learn more about their Holy Faith. Please invite, and even accompany, anyone who may be interested.

Parish Picnic

Our Annual Parish Picnic is next Sunday, September 17th. Join us anytime between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM at Council Bluffs Shelter in Sharon Woods park for an afternoon of games, good food and great company. We’re providing the hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks, you bring the rest.

Choir Practice

Because of the Fatima Rosary Procession this Wednesday, the first Choir Practice of the season has been postponed to Wednesday, September 20th, starting at 6:30 PM and ending at 9:00 PM. If you like to sing, and would like to take a more active part in the liturgical life at St. Gertrude’s, please join us.

Next Sunday

Next Sunday is the Third Sunday of the Month. The Blessing of the Sick follows all Masses. The Parish Picnic is at Sharon Woods Park from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
