Solemnity of Corpus Christi

June 10, 2007 – Solemnity of Corpus Christi
Today is the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. The High Mass is of the feast with the Commemoration and Last Gospel of the Sunday. The Low Masses are of the Sunday within the Octave.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Continues All Afternoon.
The Blessed Sacrament is exposed all day today until our closing Benediction that follows the 4:45 PM Vespers. If you have not yet spent time in adoration this Corpus Christi, come this afternoon and visit with Our Savior, King and Friend. He should not be left alone on this day of all days.
Our annual outdoor procession of the Blessed Sacrament takes place this morning after the High Mass, with outdoor Benediction, as well as Benediction in the church at its conclusion. The third and final Benediction of the day follows Vespers, beginning at 4:45 PM.
Members of the Rosary Confraternity are kindly asked to sit together as a group, on the Gospel side of the church, at the 9:00 AM High Mass and take part in the Eucharistic procession, and to take turns adoring the Blessed Sacrament from 1 – 3:00 PM.
The men of the Holy Name Society are kindly asked to take turns adoring the Blessed Sacrament from 3 – 4:45 PM.

The Sacred Heart
The feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Friday, June 15th, should be marked with special fervor in our families where He has been enthroned as King of Love. Decorate your Sacred Heart shrine, renew your consecrations as a family and receive Holy Communion at the 11:30 AM or the 5:45 PM Mass.
This feast offers us an opportunity to repair the damage done to His Sacred Heart by our coldness and indifference to the Blessed Sacrament, as well as to remember just how much He loves us. Make an effort to attend an extra Mass in His honor during the Octave.
Remember, this is a feast Our Lord specifically requested personally of St. Margaret Mary. Shouldn’t you come?

Ladies, join us Friday, June 15th, the Feast of the Sacred Heart, for an Evening of Recollection with 5:45 PM Mass, Benediction, and a Spiritual Talk at 7:00 PM with opportunity for questions and discussion. Confessions will be heard before the talk. Refreshments conclude the evening.

Fatima Rosary Procession
Wednesday, June 13th, we observe the second of our Fatima Rosary Processions. It is also the feast of St. Anthony of Padua. Mass will be offered at 5:45 PM (please note the special time – we hope this will allow more people to attend the Mass and procession) in honor of St. Anthony to honor his great love of Our Lady and for all of our lost souls. Following the Mass, at approximately 7:00 PM, members of the Rosary Confraternity, and all parishioners, are asked to drive or carpool to the parking lot of the First Watch Restaurant at the corner of Union Center Blvd. and Floer Dr. The address is 9233 Floer Dr. Floer Drive runs parallel with Muhlhauser Road. You may enter Floer Drive from either Union Center Blvd. or Muhlhauser Road. Please make a sacrifice to pray this public rosary with us. Your witness and your prayers are sorely needed for our Church, our country and our families.

The 5:45 PM Mass
Please note that this week’s “extra 5:45” Mass is scheduled for Wednesday the 13th in honor of St. Anthony and just before the second of our Fatima Rosary Processions at 7:00 PM.

Congratulations to Our Graduates
Our prayers and best wishes to Megan Keaveney who graduated last Saturday from Centerville H.S. and will be attending Denison University, Granville, Ohio (30 Minutes east of Columbus); and our two Grade School Graduates, John Lotarski and Addy Wilker. Please remember to keep all our grade school, high school and college students in your prayers.

Thirteen Tuesdays of St. Anthony
We will open our traditional 13 Tuesdays of St. Anthony on Tuesday, June 19th, at a special 5:45 PM Mass followed by St. Anthony Devotions – and then the St. Anthony Blessing of Animals. Come to participate in this powerful devotion every Tuesday this Summer!

St. Francis de Sales Scribes
The St. Francis de Sales Scribes will meet on June 24th, at 10:45 AM, following the 9:00 AM High Mass, in the School Office. We will be having a special guest speaker. Anyone who writes or is interested in writing is welcome to attend.

In Your Charity…
Please pray for all of our sick and shut-ins, especially Linda Cardamone and Connie Kamphaus.

Next Sunday – Father’s Day
Next Sunday is the Third Sunday of the Month and Sacred Heart Sunday. The Blessing of Expectant Mothers follows all Masses.
All our fathers, living and deceased, will be remembered at the special High Mass next Sunday. Envelopes are available in the pews, the vestibule and the Gift Shop. Please fill them out and return them to the Office or in the collection basket if you wish your own father to be included.
