Sunday in the Octave of Sacred Heart

June 17, 2007 – Sacred Heart Sunday – Pentecost III
Happy Father’s Day! All our fathers, living and deceased will be remembered at the High Mass today. The Blessing of Expectant Mothers is available following all Masses. Vespers and Benediction are at 4:45 PM.
Today is Sunday Within the Octave of the Sacred Heart, with the commemoration of the Octave of the Sacred Heart.

Summer Notes
Today we begin our summer schedule. The choir takes a well-deserved break, and the faithful are asked to help sing the Sunday High Mass. The Schola will sing Propers and alternate the Ordinary (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus & Agnus Dei) with the congregation. This is an excellent way for us and our children to become familiar with the Church’s beautiful Gregorian chant.

Thirteen Tuesdays of St. Anthony
We open our traditional 13 Tuesdays of St. Anthony this week at a special 5:45 PM High Mass followed by St. Anthony Devotions.
The Blessing of Animals in honor of St. Anthony takes place in the Cloister at approximately 7:00 PM. Come to participate in this powerful devotion every Tuesday this Summer!

St. Francis de Sales Scribes
The St. Francis de Sales Scribes will meet on June 24th, at 10:45 AM, following the 9:00 AM High Mass, in the School Office. We will be having a special guest speaker. Anyone who writes or is interested in writing is welcome to attend.
