The blessing of religious articles is available at the communion rail after all Masses. The second collection is taken up for the support of our Seminary. Call Enrollment for Sunday Catechism classes (Grades Pre-School through High School) takes place in the Social Hall after the morning Masses today. Festive Organ Vespers open Our Lady’s Nativity at 1:10 this afternoon, and are followed by Benediction.

This Week
Nativity of Our Blessed Mother
Tomorrow, September 8th is the feast of Our Lady’s Nativity. The Blessing of Seeds and Seedlings, will take place after the 11:25 AM Mass. Each child will receive a seedling to plant in Our Lady’s honor. Following the High Mass there will be a Birthday Party for “Baby Mary.” There will be cake and activities for the children. Please note, ALL CHILDREN, and especially our homeschoolers, are welcome to the festivities for this special birthday which “announces joy to the whole world.”

The 13th Tuesday of St. Anthony, the mystic number thirteen is now completed before St. Anthony’s shrine, and we close this powerful devotion at all Masses this Tuesday. Come a last time to honor our saint.

First Choir Practice will be this Wednesday (Sept. 10th) from 6:30-8:30 PM (Note New Time)

The Holy Name of Mary ”Terrible to demons, sweet to Christians,” the Holy Name of Mary usually is solemnized on Sunday, but this year gives way to the Holy Cross from which it derives its strength. Come then on Friday to pay your homage to Mary’s Holy Name: 11:25 AM and 5:45 PM.

Our Lady’s Saturday The Octave of Our Lady’s Nativity contains spiritual treasures for her children, including the anniversary of her September apparation at Fatima. Come to pray the Rosary with us in West Chester, after morning Mass, at 9:15 AM. Please note that we will meet in the back parking lot (rather than in the front of First Watch restaurant), at the corner of Union Center Blvd. and Flour Drive. Please make the extra sacricfice to begin your busy Saturday by “being about your Father’s business.” Your Blessed Mother will reward you.

Next Sunday
The Blessing with the relic of the True Cross ollows all Masses. Sunday Catechism Classes open at 10:30, after the High Mass. First Vespers of the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady are sung at 1:10 PM, followed by Benediction. Set your missal: The Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Sept. 14, with commeneration and Last Gospel of Pentecost XVIII, Preface of the Holy Cross.

Rosary Sunday is Oct. 5th and Kathleen Plumb the publisher of the “Four Marks” will give a talk after the 9 AM Mass and during the breakfast.

Requiescant in Pace
Our sympathy and prayers go to Mr. & Mrs. Michael Ribar upon the death of his father, Michael Ribar on Aug. 23rd. Pray, too, for Gene Faul, Treasurer of our chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary in Louisiana. Gene died next door to the chapel where he lived taken suddenly during the hurricane. May they rest in peace, Amen
