Pentecost XXIV

What a beautiful day was last Sunday, as we opened with confidence our 12 Sundays of the Mother of Good Counsel counting on her intervention and miraculous aid. It was a perfect day for our cemetery rosary. Alas, the somewhat symbolic confusion caused by a combination of error and criticism led to two rosaries recited at both St. Joseph’s. I’m sorry to have missed the most of you, but am edified and grateful you turned out, and that many rosaries were prayed. As I remarked last Sunday “Isn’t it time you prayed a rosary now?”

Our beautiful grounds become even richer in meaning with the addition of the shrine for the agony in the Garden, which we hope to dedicate soon. Other gardening projects took place as well, for which I thank Eldon and also a benefactor. May all of this exterior beauty be matched by the interior. I know it will if you ask for it, especially by frequently meditating the rosary, and by making it to daily Mass and Communion sometimes during the week.

As you may have heard, Fr. Ramolla decided to leave us a while ago, and we certainly thank him for all his good efforts and help during the little over a year he spent with us, and wish him Godspeed in his future endeavors.

I have taken up his classes, Religion and Bible History, with grades 1-5, and must say how much I am enjoying it. They are a fine bunch of children, and both know and love their holy faith.

I wish you a blessed St. Gertrude’s Day, and every blessing and protection of our powerful patroness upon you, our loyal parishioners.
