AN INVITATION TO A NOVENA: TAKE DOWN THE BARRIERS
I’m wondering if you could help me with my latest holy project? Thursday April 16 is kept in many places as the feast of St. Bernadette, day of her death. (Originally it was February 18, which we observe.) But we need St. Bernadette, who, driven by Divine Grace ignored the illegal prohibitions and went to the Grotto, or as close as she could get, given the barriers erected by the government. She also knelt with the others on the opposite bank of the Gave and saw the Immaculata only at a distance, for last time on July 16 due to the same difficulties. Let us pray to Our Lady and St.Bernadette for these two special intentions. You’re welcome to make this novena, whenever you can.

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF LOURDES AND ST. BERNADETTE
(feast April 16)
Intention: The removal of the barriers against the True Mass by public authorities, public opinion and even by our priests.
The restoration of courage, calm and confidence to our Catholics and their clergy.

HAIL MARY
V. O Mary conceived without sin, R. Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

FAVORITE PRAYERS OF ST. BERNADETTE
Priest & People: My Dear Mother, / make me prove my love for Jesus / as thou didst, / by the acceptance of all / that it may please Him / to send me. O Mother, / in thy Heart, / I come to bury my anguish, / and to seek strength / and courage. O, Mother, / may my heart be hidden in thine, / and have no other love, / but the good pleasure of my Divine Master. O, Mother, / come to my aid, / grant me the grace / to die to myself, / so that I may no longer live / except through and for my sweet Jesus. / Amen.

PRAYER TO ST. BERNADETTE
Priest & People: O Saint Bernadette, / pure and simple child, / thou who wast privileged to behold / the beauty of Mary Immaculate / and to be the recipient of her confidence / eighteen times at Lourdes, / thou who didst desire thenceforth / to hide thyself in the cloister of Nevers, / and there live and die as a victim for sinners, / obtain for us that spirit of purity, / simplicity, / and mortification, / which will lead us also to the glorious vision of God / and of Mary / in Heaven./ Amen.
