Today is the First Sunday of the Month. The Blessing of Religious Articles follows all Masses. Our special Second Collection is for our Seminary and Mission Support. Today we begin our 12 Sundays of Our Mother of Good Counsel. Children’s Catechism classes resume at 10:30 AM. The day concludes with Vespers and Benediction at 4:45 PM.
The little church is in the vestibule this morning. The ushers are collecting alms for the Alter Christus Confraternity to support priests who might not otherwise receive help. Please be generous.
The children of St. Gertrude’s School will make the annual cemetery procession at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Hamilton this Tuesday afternoon to pray the Rosary for the faithful departed. You are welcome to join us. Directions to St. Stephen’s Cemetery: SR 747 North to SR 129 West to Ohio Rt 4, turn right. Follow to Fairgrounds turn left on to Fair Avenue (sign is on right side of road). Stay to right, Neal Boulevard turn left at Greenwood Avenue. Second set of gates on right is St. Stephen’s Cemetery.)
Those who make a visit to a cemetery, and pray for the holy souls, on adny day of the year, may gain an indulgence of 7 years, applicable only to the departed. A plenary indulgence is granted to the poor souls for any prayer for the departed said at any cemetery within the Octave of All Souls.
Our annual Rosary for the Faithful Departed, sponsored by the Rosary Confraternity, will be held next Sunday, November 12th at 3:30 PM in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. All members of the parish are invited to take part in this beautiful suffrage for the poor souls.
