Solemnity of St. Gertrude the Great

November 19, 2006 – Solemnity of St. Gertrude the Great – Pentecost XXIV (Epiphany VI)

Today is the Third Sunday of the Month. The Blessing of Expectant Mothers follows the Low Masses.

We welcome today Father Nicholas Desposito. Father is offering the 9:00 AM Solemn High Mass to celebrate the Solemnity of St. Gertrude the Great, and the 3rd Anniversary of our new church. Father Desposito will give his First Priestly Blessing after Mass.

All parishioners are invited to a Reception in Helfta Hall in honor of the Solemnity of St. Gertrude and the newly ordained Fr. Desposito following the High Mass.

Vespers and Benediction are at 4:45 PM.

Additional Confessions

Please remember, school confessions are now heard after school (approx. 3:30 PM) every Tuesday afternoon during the School Year. You are welcome as well. In addition, Confessions are heard at about 11:15 AM on Friday, and 10:45 AM on First Friday.

Thanksgiving

Join us for a special Holiday Mass with patriotic music on Thursday, November 23rd, at 9:00 AM. Holy Mass is the best way to give thanks. Let’s joyfully and thankfully stress the religious character of this holiday. The abstinence is traditionally dispensed on the Friday after Thanksgiving and meat may be taken.

Visitation Society

The Visitation Society is sponsoring a membership drive organizational meeting on Sunday, December 3rd following the 9:00 AM Mass. Bishop Dolan will be speaking at the meeting. Please bring contact information of people who need visiting. Contact Kathy Bayer at 779-0212 if you have questions.

Arts and Crafts

If you’re a crafty kind of person, perhaps you would like to help make a success out of our Sunday, December 17th, Christmas Craft Sale. You are welcome to drop off items at the church office, or call Connie Kamphaus, 513-892-1469, for more information. Thank you so much for your help, time and creativity.

We are planning a Christmas bake sale for the same Sunday morning. Please mark your calendar, and plan on sharing some of your Christmas goodies with us to make this a great fundraising booster.

Next Sunday

Next Sunday is the Fourth Sunday of the Month. Confessions will be heard before and during all Masses.
