Easter II

April 22, 2007 – Easter II.
Today is the Third Sunday of the Month, Good Shepherd Sunday. The Blessing of Expectant Mothers follows all Masses. Confessions will be heard before and during the morning Masses.

Wednesday – St. Joseph
Wednesday is St. Joseph’s Day each week, but more especially so this week, when a grateful Church keeps the Solemnity of his patronage. Come to honor the great Patron Saint of the Catholic Church, whose patronage is needed more than ever today. His Feastday Mass is at 11:30 AM. The St. Joseph Novena begins on Tuesday after Mass.

The Greater Litanies
Wednesday is also the observance of the Greater Litanies. A Solemn Procession will take place at 6:30 PM, the High Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 PM to commemorate the first entrance of St. Peter into Rome, to keep away calamities both spiritual and temporal, and implore the Divine blessing on the fruits of the earth. At the same time, beseech the Lord, in His mercy, to remove from us the chastisement which we have deserved for our sins, and to grant us the grace to avoid committing fresh offences, as well as the grace of persevering in our spiritual resurrection. It is a most powerful prayer.

St. Mark / Our Lady of Good Counsel
Thursday, April 26th, is the Feast of St. Mark, transferred due to Wednesday’s Feast of St. Joseph. It is also the Feast of Our Mother of Good Counsel. Come to the Mass of St. Mark and the opening of Our Mother of Good Counsel’s Triduum to plead for her help and guidance for our own church as well as Holy Mother Church. The Triduum concludes Saturday, April 28th.
