Epiphany of Our Lord Jesus Christ

January 6, 2008 – Feast of the Epiphany

Our Special Second Collection is for Our Seminary.
The Blessing of Religious Articles follows all Masses.
Catechism classes resume at 10:35 AM.
In preparation for this afternoon’s party, Helfta Hall is closed this morning. Thank you for your understanding.

The Forty Hours’ Devotion honors the time Our Lord’s Adorable Body passed in the Holy Sepulcher, and obtains for the Church, as well as for each soul, all of the pressing needs of the day by this most efficacious prayer. Please plan to take an hour of Adoration where it is most needed: this afternoon from 1:00 – 5:00 PM.
Then join us at 4:00 PM for Second Vespers of the Feast of Epiphany.

At 5:00 PM we are celebrating our Parish Appreciation Dinner. Parish workers and volunteers please join us in Helfta Hall. The church will provide the main course, holiday beverages and a cake. Please bring a little something “special” to share – salads, fruit, vegetables, – “your specialty”. We look forward to sharing and enjoy a holiday evening with you.

There will be the usual Low Mass at 5:45 PM. Our beautiful Epiphany Forty Hours weekend concludes at 7:00 PM with the Closing Ceremonies: Litany of the Saints, Procession and Benediction. This service lasts approximately 45 minutes. Please try to attend. Members of the Rosary Confraternity are invited to process together in a body for the Closing of Forty Hours. Medals will be available, candles distributed, and pews reserved for your use. Come to honor the Blessed Sacrament. It is an honor to be asked! Parents please bring your children to walk in the procession and throw flower petals before Our Lord. Pews will be reserved for them, and flowers provided. During the course of this exposition, if a visit is made to the Blessed Sacrament, there is granted an indulgence of 15 years. A plenary indulgence on each of the days of the exposition provided the faithful make their Confession and Holy Communion.

Next Sunday
Vespers and Benediction are at 4:45 PM, Catechism classes at 10:35 AM.

Set your missal: January 13th. Octave of the Epiphany. Preface and Communi-cantes of Epiphany.
